This high-quality, smooth earthenware body has a low flux content to improve glaze pick-up and enable it to be used at higher temperatures. When fired above 1200C the body takes on a deep red tone. Exercise caution when firing above 1230C or if reduction-firing, as the high oxide content makes this body prone to bloating.
